Where the Maiden Hair Fern Grows - Shadow Shot Sunday

Sissy and I went for a walk down through the forests of our childhood...down into a place we named as children--Deer Valley.  There was magic in the air.  Then, Where the Maiden Hair Fern Grows . . .

Sissy and I were sure we saw faeries begin to dance.

Tree and Thistle - Shadow Shot Sunday

One can feel summer's illusive ending in this photo--there is a sense of poignant change, of nostalgia lingering in the shadows.  The crickets are chirping and buzzing--it is warm, yet in the shade where the sun's rays flee away, there is an edgy coolness--the promise of Fall and Winter to come, to The Abandoned.

Where the Shadow People Live

There are shadow people who live in The Abandoned.  I have not seen them myself, but I have felt them slipping through the darkness as Sissy and I walk through the buildings.

I was not surprised, when going through my photos, to discover a shadow person lurking in that dark hallway--Oh!  Phew!  It's just Sissy, the Artist.  She's no doubt taking an incredible shot at that moment!

Check out Harriet's blog for more wonderful shadowy photography at Shadow Shot Sunday.

Shadows of Green

This is the walkway beneath the sky bridge leading from one huge building to the other.  As you can see the ivy is encroaching over the cement and there is an eery green shadowy glow reflecting up on the ceiling.
