Walking through this place is a moving experience. Everywhere shivers of glass cover the floors. Awful language and dirty pictures cover the walls. Sometimes one can find exquisite artwork there, too--and sometimes--once in awhile one can find an interesting reflection.
Somehow this photo--with my own face reflected back through all that brokenness--has a special meaning to me today. I am grateful for the broken places in my life. This brokenness has made me who I am. It will influence my life for the rest of the years yet to be lived.

Flowers and Sky Hearts - Guest Heart Thursday
One can find many wild flowers growing on the grounds of The Abandoned. This is a Thimbleberry blossom. Here you can see a petal in the shape of a heart.
Last week, when Sissy and I walked the overgrown lane to the abandoned mega church, I chanced to look upward. I caught this heart in the sky. Appropriately--the heart seems to have eyes. And they seem to be looking right at the camera....
Join Clytie for more wonderful heart shots from everywhere, on Guest Heart Thursday.

Where the Children Play
The Abandoned Mega Church has many interesting rooms where the children and artists play. Above is one of them.
Clytie and I walked over to view the newest artwork in the main auditorium--I've displayed these photos the best I could, below--I apologize there are so many!
Here is the entire wall as we saw it that day.

Shadows of Green
This is the walkway beneath the sky bridge leading from one huge building to the other. As you can see the ivy is encroaching over the cement and there is an eery green shadowy glow reflecting up on the ceiling.

The Abandoned
This is only a small part of The Abandoned mega church which is directly across the street where I grew up. I have started this blog to showcase the many photographs Sissy and I have taken of this amazing place. Stay tuned...
