Molten
Sissy and I walked through The Abandoned, then puttered along neglected paths where flowers raised their scented faces to the sun. There's a place in the chain link fence, one can walk through to reach a rutted old road. From there we made our way through the woods to the old Dammasch State Hospital dump. Though the place where Dammasch Hospital once stood now sports snazzy homes--there are still remnants of the hospital if one knows where to look. Places like this dump. One can find all kinds of fascinating treasures there.
I find myself wondering about the lives of the people who once lived there, walking the halls of the hospital. What stories lie buried here in this dump? We will probably never know.
The photo above is of a bottle which was thrown into the Dammasch incinerator, melted and discarded--now molten and glorified in that rare bit of sunshine.
WARNING: If you visit The Abandoned, be sure to get permission from the owner, or caretaker before you come, otherwise you risk getting arrested for trespassing.

It amazes me that you keep returning to the same site over and over--and making new discoveries!
Oh sissie - it looks like a snake eye! Funny how we took pictures of the same shard of glass, and came up with such different views!!! This is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
Love that color!
