Japanese Rose -Guest Heart Thursday

The camellia bush where this lovely flower blossomed is as tall as a house.  I know this is a camellia, but I love its other name--the Japanese roseLast Spring, Dad made me take armfuls of these beautiful flowers home with me.  It is a sweet memory which I hold dear.  I will always love this flower because of Daddy.

Rubble Hearts -Guest Heart Thursday

On our last walk together through the rubble of The Abandoned, Sissy and I found several hearts, held barely in place by twisted rebar.

There are few walls left standing.  In a year or two, thankfully all of this will be gone.  Brand new homes with manicured lawns will take its place.  All that will be left of The Abandoned will be the memories and photographs of what once was here.  It will be abandoned no more.

Copper Pipe Hearts -Guest Heart Thursday

On my last walk with Sissy through The Abandoned, we came across an amazing array of cut copper piping.  It is actually part of an old machine, I think.  What a wonderful display for any photographer who loves rust, twisted metal and interesting patterns.

Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Shell Heart and Gater Eye -Guest Heart Thursday

I love filberts--when the shells are cracked open they look like tiny little hearts.  I found one in the woods as Sissy and I walked through the forests of The Abandoned.  What I didn't see until just a bit ago--is there was a gater looking at me--or perhaps it is a dinosaur, or dragon?

What a tiny little fellow he must be!  Can you see him?  Once you find his "eye" you'll find the rest of him.  Not surprising to find a dragon-like creature hiding next to a filbert shell heart in The Abandoned.
