Shards - Weekend Reflections

One never knows what one may see, or find--or what dangers one might step into when roaming The Abandoned.  I thought this photo was striking.  Here vandals have broken out windows, leaving behind sharp shards, delicately suspended.  A dangerous obstacle to those who slip through these buildings in the dark of night.  An accident waiting to happen.

For more wonderful reflections from around the world, be sure to visit James at Weekend Reflections.

Very unusual photo, quite striking - and, as you say, rather dangerous.

Unusual photo to say the least. We lived in Oregon for years and yet I never heard of this building (read your sidebar). what an interesting look at Oregon history -- and I wonder what the future will bring to this building?

Really stunning : the composition is amazing on your picture... It looks like a piece of art for a Guggenheim museum...

I always low your "abandoned" photos Beth. They remind me of the collages I used to make from the abandoned scraps of paper my art students left behind...I always found beauty and purpose in those left over bits that seemed worthless to others....I feel a kindred feeling to the way we must both see, be in the world.

This is really interesting. I'm glad you started this blog. I have always been curious about the "megachurch" that Clytie talks about on her blog. It's nice to learn more about it, but sad that something so big could collapse. Looks like they may have another "abandonned" in California soon too.
